My New Toy!

Okay, I'm an Ebay fanatic. So when I saw this on Ebay, I just had to have it.

I love, love, love scalp massages so much. I also must admit nothing can replace a great head massage with your hands. But there are times where I am extremely tired and I just want someone or something to do it for me. So with that said, I bought me a scalp massager off of ebay. This retails anywhere from $49.95 - $70.00. But of course I am the ebay queen. I ended up winning the bid for just 1 cent. Yes, I said 1 cent! Of course I had to pay $9.90 for shipping, but either way it was a steal. I just recieved it, and I must say this thing feels like a million little hands all over my head and neck. It's a perfect feeling...but I must admit the design is straight up ugly. I look like I'm wearing an alien helmet or something. lol... :)

Here's a little more info on it from the manufacturer:

-Head Spa Massager from StrongIdea

  • 15 point massage vibration including neck and back of head
  • Relieve tension in the neck and head
  • Increase blood circulation
  • Stimulate millions of nerve endings
  • Ease sinus and head pain
  • Rechargeable and wireless

This patented Italian design incorporates Japanese engineering and utilizes acupressure to relax and soothe your problems away. It's like thousands of tiny fingers simultaneously massaging your scalp. Simply place our Brain Spa Head Massager on your head and feel the tension miraculously leave your body. Suitable for any age, this massager stimulates blood circulation and helps to relieve stress. Use it at your desk at work. You can use it on your morning commute in traffic. Use it while relaxing at home in front of the TV after a long day. Its rechargeable battery makes it totally portable and easy to use anytime and anywhere. It's like a Spa for your brain and soul.

Scalp Massages

A major component in my hair regimen is scalp massaging. It is, in my opinion, the best growth aid. It's also very free to do. Of course there are other things that do contribute to hair growth, but my experience with scalp massaging has really increased my growth potential per month. I usually get 1/2 an inch per month, but when I do my daily scalp massages consistently, I can maintain anywhere from 1/2 - 3/4 inch of new growth. I usually massage my hair daily with Amla or Vatika Coconut Oil. It leaves my hair and my scalp feeling so good.

Benefits of scalp massages:
1. It lubricates and conditions the scalp, helping to prevent flakes and dry scalp without the use of harsh chemical shampoos.

2. It helps enhance blood circulation in the head and neck area. When the scalp is "tight" from stress, circulation and hair growth are impeded.

3. It helps relax the scalp and increase pliability.

4. It helps strengthen the roots of the hair and nourishes the hair-shafts, promoting new hair growth and strengthening current hair.

5. It helps soften and conditions the hair, making it more manageable.

6. It spreads the natural oils of the hair, increasing hair luster and vibrancy.

7. It helps protect hair from the damaging effects of the sun and harsh weather by improving resiliency over time.

8. It is replenishing and rejuvenating for dry, damaged hair, and helps prevent excessive brittleness and split-ends.

9. It helps pacify Vata dosha. Especially when enriched with Vata-pacifying herbs, a warm oil hair and scalp massage can be wonderfully relaxing for the mind and nervous system.

10. When fortified with cooling, Pitta-pacifying herbs, the hair and scalp massage can help balance Pitta dosha and help prevent Pitta-related problems such as premature graying or thinning of hair.

11. The massage helps relax the muscles in the neck area.

12. The hair and scalp massage can help promote sound sleep at night.

Second Design: Pink French Tips

Here is my second design. I am getting better at this. This only took me about 20-30 minutes to finish. I actually like this better than my first design. I love it!

I'll try to do a tutorial next week.
For this design, I used:
-Sally Hansen - Advanced Hard As Nails: Clear Base Coat
-Sally Hansen- Diamond Strenth: 05 Diamonds
-Sinful Colors Professionals: Cabana 36
-KISS Nail Accents Flexible Stickers

Chick Flix: Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam

I love this movie. Yes it's a Bollywood film, but it's so enchanting. The title "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" means, "Straight from the Heart." This is just such a sweet film. This film stars one of my favorite bollywood actresses, Aishwarya Rai. It also stars her love intrests Ajay Devgan and Salman Khan. So if you have time and patience to watch and read subtitles. Check out this film. Here's the link to where you can view it. "VIEW MOVIE"

SUMMARY:

When Salman asks for Ash's hand in marriage her family refuses. They have already chosen a husband for their daughter. Salman returns to Italy. When Ajay, Ash's new husband realizes that his new bride has been in love with someone else, he is prepared to sacrifice his love for her and take her to Italy to be reunited with her true love, Salman.

First Design: The Joker

Here is my first design. I did this about a week ago. Not to bad for an amateur, right? It took me about an 1 1/2 - 2 hours to get this right. I struggled at first because I am right handed. Every time I tried to used my left hand to paint...it did not look pretty! But now I'm getting used to it.

I tried to mimic the Joker in the Deck of Cards.

For this design, I used:
-Sally Hansen - Advanced Hard As Nails: Clear Base Coat
-Sally Hansen - Advanced Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear: "Flirt-Burgundy" (It looks black when it dries)
-Tea Nail Hardener: Passion 21 "Red"
-I also used a toothpick to make the dots

Nail Art

Wow, I have totally neglected this blog. Well, I plan to stay a little longer now...

Lately, my new hobby is nail art. I never used to get my nails done on a regular basis. It just seemed to costly to maintain, so I never tried. Well, I decided to teach my self how to design my own nails. Just like the professionals.

So I went to Walgreen's and bought a handful of nail polishes that were on sale and got started on making my nails a little more attractive.

Here's a few of the polishes I picked up:

I also picked up this nail art pen for $7.99. I haven't used it yet. It states that is will make it easier for me to design my nails. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

I'll be sure to update you ladies on my new hobby and various nail designs. :)
